A major fire broke out overnight at a Tesla dealership in Pennes-Mirabeau near Marseille, destroying dozens of electric cars.
Around 50 firefighters worked through the night to contain the blaze and stop it from spreading to nearby buildings and vehicles.
No injuries were reported. The cause is still unknown, but police say a fence at the rear of the site had been cut, prompting suspicions of deliberate damage.
Forensic teams examined the scene as investigators opened a criminal inquiry. Tesla says it is carrying out its own internal review.
