Severe flooding in southern Thailand has killed 33 people and displaced tens of thousands, also affecting neighbouring Malaysia. A state of emergency has been declared in Songkhla province, where heavy rains have inundated Hat Yai and surrounding areas. In total, about two million people have been affected by the flooding.
