Trump praises New York mayor-elect Mamdani at warm White House meeting

US President Donald Trump and New York's incoming progressive mayor Zohran Mamdani were all smiles at a White House meeting on Friday, promising to set aside months of bitter feuding and cooperate on the city's future. Trump, who had previously labelled Mamdani a "100% Communist Lunatic", said the incoming mayor would do a "great job" leading the nation's biggest city. Morgan Ayre reports.
