Media tycoon and Beijing critic Jimmy Lai found guilty in controversial security trial

A Hong Kong court has found the media mogul and pro-democracy activist Jimmy Lai guilty of conspiracy to collude with foreign forces and of publishing seditious material. The 78 year-old's tabloid newspaper was one of the most vociferous critics of Beijing until it was forced to close in 2021. His trial has been criticised for violating Hong Kong judicial independence and for its crackdown on press freedom. FRANCE 24's Jan Camenzind Broomby tells us more from Taipei.
