Algerian police released video on Thursday reportedly showing the results of a major drug bust.

Police said they seized some 33 kilos of cocaine and more than 10 million capsules of the psychotropic substance pregabalin. Used to treat epilepsy, pregabalin has euphoric effects and its use has skyrocketed in recent years.

The operation tracked drug consignments from the south of Algeria to several cities in the north. It identified an international network based in the west of the country, police said.

Twenty-five people have been arrested while 25 others - including nationals from Algeria, Morocco and the Netherlands - remain at large.

The investigation began in January, authorities said, and has led to the identification of drug dealers in Morocco. Other accomplices are believed to have been working out of Dubai and France.

Earlier this month, Spanish authorities dismantled a smuggling network operating between Spain and Algeria.
