Der Bundestag hat den Haushalt für das laufende Jahr beschlossen. Er sieht Ausgaben von rund 502,5 Milliarden Euro vor. In Kernhaushalt und Sondertöpfen sind zusammen Kredite von mehr als 140 Milliarden Euro geplant. Die Neuverschuldung liegt bei 81,8 Milliarden Euro. Die Abgeordneten stimmten am Nachmittag in namentlicher Abstimmung über den Etatentwurf für 2025 ab.
Es ist der erste Haushalt der schwarz-roten Bundesregierung. Die letzte Regierung war im Streit um den Etat für 2025 im verganenen Jahr auseinandergebrochen. Der damalige Finanzminister Christian Lindner lehnte es ab mehr Schulden aufzunehmen, daraufhin schmiss Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz ihn aus der Regierung – das Ende der Ampel-Koalition.
