Russia's strikes cause fires and injuries in Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk

Russia launched several drones at Ukraine's Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions overnight on Monday, injuring several and resulting in widespread damage.

In Odesa, the strikes triggered large-scale fires, severely damaging the city's electronics market. Several kiosks selling electronics and household appliances were destroyed, the State Emergency of Ukraine said.

A disused student dormitory as well as a private home also caught on fire.

According to Ukraine's Air Force, multiple Shahed drones were seen flying from the Black Sea towards the historic port city, as well as neighbouring Chornomorsk.

Firefighters, along with volunteers, managed to contain and extinguish the fires. According to preliminary reports, no casualties or injuries were reported.

The Dnipropetrovsk region also saw overnight strikes, in which three people were injured, including a four-month-old baby, local media reported.

"The communities of Nikopol, Marhanets, Myrivska, and Pokrovska were under attack," head of the region Serhiy Lysak wrote on Telegram.

"Three people were wounded, all of them were taken to the hospital. A 4-month-old girl is in serious condition. Women aged 40 and 46 are in moderate condition," he added.

Shortly before Moscow's overnight attack, Ukraine reported to have struck a drone storage base and military plant in Russia.

On Saturday, Ukraine's Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) said that its drones hit the Shahed storage airbase in Primorsko-Akhtarsk and the Elektropribor military plant in Penza in Russia, just as two people were killed by Russian strikes on Kherson.
