Brussels, my love? Middle East horror unfolds from afar

We are joined this week by Virginijus Sinkevičius, Lithuanian MEP from the Greens, Maria Martisiute, a security and defence analyst from the European Policy Centre and Matthew Robinson, director of the Euro-Gulf Information Centre.

The panel discussed whether the world is now witnessing another fullscale war, after the bloc's top diplomat Josep Borrell warned that the situation in Lebanon is "extremely dangerous and worrying".

The panel also discussed the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the US, where he presented his "victory plan" — which calls for serious military support from the West.

"It's really time to be talking about victory, which is totally missing from NATO's communiques", Maria Martisiute said.

"The leaders are just afraid that Russia can lose this war", said Virginijus Sinkevičius. "That's the biggest problem."
