Emmanuel Macron seeks international cooperation to tackle drug trafficking

Emmanuel Macron is in Marseille a month after the assassination of the brother of a young anti-drugs activist, a suspected intimidation tactic. In 2021, the French president had pledged significant resources to help France's second largest city modernise and curb the drug crime afflicting it. Now, he wants to strengthen cooperation with countries from which drug-trafficking networks operate in France.
