Nigeria signals more strikes likely in 'joint' US operations

Nigeria has indicated that further strikes against jihadist groups may follow a joint operation with the United States that targeted Islamic State group militants in the country’s northwest on Thursday. The foreign minister said Nigeria provided the intelligence for the attack and described cooperation with Washington as ongoing. The US military reported multiple deaths in the Christmas Day bombing, as President Donald Trump reiterated claims that militant groups in Nigeria are targeting “innocent Christians”.
