Zelensky hopes to build on the momentum from yesterday’s European Council talks in Brussels, where he welcomed progress on strengthening Ukraine’s air defences and the addition of Finland and Spain to the coalition purchasing weapons for Kyiv. However, Ukraine faced a major setback as EU leaders postponed a decision on using frozen Russian assets in Belgium to secure a €140 billion loan, despite earlier expectations and partial agreement on the plan.
