South Africa: volunteers seek help to illegal miners trapped in disused mine

In South Africa, hundreds of illegal miners remain underground at an abandoned goldmine. The gouverment has rejected calls for the miners to be allowed to leave the deep shaft underground without being arrested. Volunteer rescue workers have been calling for an end to the police operation, arguing their lives are at risk.
