In eastern DRC, an increasing amount of pregnant women are struggling as they face rising cost of maternal care after a free childbirth programme was cancelled by Rwanda-backed rebel group M23. It has left many expecting mothers terrified of giving birth under rebel control, as the conflict has delayed the delivery of medical supplies and caused the collapse of vital infrastructures.
