Israel begins bombing Gaza City after expanded offensive gets green light

Israel on Thursday told medical personnel in northern Gaza to prepare evacuation plans ahead of a major offensive on Gaza City, as it stepped up bombardments and left mediators waiting on its response to a ceasefire proposal accepted by Hamas.
