US stands by Ambassador Kushner in row over French efforts against anti-Semitism

A diplomatic rift between France and the US deepened on Monday after the US ambassador to Paris, Charles Kushner, wrote a letter accusing France of a “lack of sufficient action” on anti-Semitism, a critique France called “unacceptable”.  In Washington, US State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott defended Kushner, saying, “We stand by his comments.”
