Scotland’s Nnena Kalu wins 2025 Turner Prize for 'bold' hanging sculptures

Scotland’s Nnena Kalu won the Turner Prize on Tuesday, beating four contenders including an Iraqi painter for the prestigious contemporary art award. The 59-year-old Glasgow-born autistic artist was recognised for hanging sculptures made from wrapped fabric, rope and tape. Disability charity Sense called her nomination “incredibly significant".
