Paris to lower speed limit on ring road in drive to reduce pollution

Drivers on the French capital's crucial ring road will have to take their foot off the gas pedal just a little bit, as Paris' mayor Anne Hidalgo moves to cut the speed limit from 70 km/h per hours to 50 km/h. The new speed limit will be enforced gradually from the first of October. FRANCE24's Yinka Oyetade speaks to Ariane Bousquet, a PhD student in economics at the University of Paris-Saclay. She says that equitable access should be the primary focus when changing transport policies.
