Torre dei Conti: Rescued worker dies after Rome tower collapse

A worker has died following the partial collapse of the 13th-century Torre dei Conti tower in central Rome.
Firefighters rescued him late Monday after hours trapped beneath rubble, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed sorrow over the death of Octay Stroici.
Three workers escaped unharmed, while one remains hospitalized in critical condition. The tower, closed since 2007, was undergoing a €6.9 million restoration project.
