Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Moldovan President Maia Sandu, European Council President António Costa and the EU’s Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos were among Euronews’ guests on Tuesday in a first-of-its-kind summit on EU enlargement.

The event, which took place live in Brussels and online, saw leaders discuss the geopolitical and economic imperatives of enlarging the European bloc, as Ukraine continues to battle Russian aggression on the continent’s eastern flank.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking via videolink from an undisclosed location near the front line, reaffirmed his firm commitment to his country's European future and slammed Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán for providing "specific support" to Russian President Vladimir Putin by blocking Kyiv's bid to join the bloc.

"I don't think that I have to offer something to Viktor Orbán," Zelenskyy told Euronews.

"I think that Viktor Orbán has to offer something for Ukraine, which is protecting the whole Europe from Russia, and even now, during this war, we did not get any support from him, support of our vision of life," he added.
