It’s official: they’re back.

Acclaimed British band Radiohead has announced a run of UK and European live shows for 2025, marking their first dates in over seven years.

The band are due to make their long-awaited return to the stage this November for a run of 20 arena concerts across five cities.

The tour kicks off in Madrid (4, 5, 7, 8 Nov) before heading to Bologna (14, 15, 17, 18 Nov), London (21, 22, 24, 25 Nov), Copenhagen (1, 2, 4, 5 Dec) and finishing in Berlin (8, 9, 11, 12 Dec).

Tickets for the shows will only be accessible by registering on Radiohead’s official website. Registration opens at 10am BST/11am CET tomorrow, and closes at 10pm BST/11pm CET on Sunday 7 September.

Radiohead began teasing their return this week with a series of flyers popping up in the cities mentioned above.

The band’s last live performance took place on 1 August 2018 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. It marked the end of their A Moon Shaped Pool tour in support of their 2016 album of the same name.

Fans on social media have speculated that this tour could suggest the band are set to release a new album. However, no original material has been confirmed for a new release.

“Last year, we got together to rehearse, just for the hell of it,” said the band’s drummer Phil Selway in a statement. “After a seven-year pause, it felt really good to play the songs again and reconnect with a musical identity that has become lodged deep inside all five of us.”

He added: “It also made us want to play some shows together, so we hope you can make it to one of the upcoming dates. For now, it will just be these ones but who knows where this will all lead.”

In the years since their last live performance, the members of Radiohead have been busy. Frontman Thom Yorke and guitarist / keyboardist Jonny Greenwood's spinoff project, The Smile, has released three albums; bassist Colin Greenwood joined Nick Cave's live band; guitarist Ed O’Brien released his debut solo album, 'Earth' in 2020; and in 2023, Selway released his third solo album, 'Strange Dance'.

Radiohead have recently released a digital version of a new live album, titled ‘Hail to the Thief Live Recordings 2003 – 2009'. A vinyl pressing is expected to hit shelves on 31 October.

This comes after the news that Yorke was adapting the band’s 2003 album for a new production of Shakespeare’s play “Hamlet”, which will host its world premiere next year at Aviva Studios in Manchester.

The production is titled “Hamlet Hail To The Thief” and will see Yorke team up with Tony and Olivier Award-winning directors Steven Hoggett and Christine Jones to create a contemporary adaptation of Shakespeare’s play, described as a “feverish new live experience, fusing theatre, music and movement”.
