US presidential election 2024: Pennsylvania live results

Pennsylvania's 19 electoral votes could be the key to deciding whether Donald Trump or Kamala Harris wins the presidency. A crucial factor in the Democrats' 2020 win, the state remains a critical battleground in the 2024 race, with both parties vying for its support.

The fifth-most populous state offers 19 electoral votes and is the biggest of the seven swing states.

The swing state has sided with the winner of the past two elections, each time by just tens of thousands of votes. Polling this year suggests Pennsylvania will be close.

A loss in the state will make it difficult to gain the electoral votes needed to win the presidency elsewhere.

Trump and Harris have been frequent visitors in recent days, and the former president was speaking in Butler County on 14 July when he was the target of an assassination attempt.
