No, this video doesn't show an altercation between an immigrant and Spaniards in Barcelona

A viral social media post alleges that a video shows an immigrant in Barcelona refusing to let a blond Catalan off the metro in Barcelona.

The post says that an Andalusian from the south of Spain comes and "resolves" the situation with a kick, and you can see the supposed Catalan running off with the alleged immigrant's jacket, who then chases after the train.

It's been seen more than 2 million times on X.

However, everything about the claim is wrong — for starters, the video doesn't take place in Barcelona, but in Paris.

You can fairly clearly see a sign for the Les Halles at various points in the video, which is a metro stop in the centre of the French capital.

The video also appears to be a skit, as part of a regular series of satirical videos published online.

A reverse image search of stills from the video takes us to an account on Instagram and TikTok under the name @mr_salim_n, and we can see that the video in question was uploaded in October 2024.

He routinely posts videos of similar pranks, which often amass hundreds of thousands of views, in which he is pushed out of trains and other metro-based skits.

They mostly appear to take place in Paris, but also in other French cities such as Lyon.
