‘Together For Palestine’: Everything you need to know about the huge Wembley Arena fundraiser

A huge humanitarian fundraiser takes place tomorrow at London’s Wembley Arena, organised by Together For Palestine and executive produced by legendary British musician Brian Eno.

The event has been billed as "a gathering of artists, musicians and people for whom silence feels impossible."

The money the event raises is set to be distributed to Palestinian-led organisations such as Taawon, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund and Palestine Medical Relief Service.

Tomorrow’s gig - the UK’s largest fundraising concert for Gaza - will bring together huge names from the entertainment world, an eclectic line-up which includes musicians Paul Weller, Damon Albarn, Portishead, Nadine Shah, Neneh Cherry, PinkPantheress, Bastille, Jamie xx, James Blake; actors Guy Pearce, Benedict Cumberbatch, Florence Pugh, Jameela Jamil, Riz Ahmed, Ruth Negga; former football star Eric Cantona; Chicken Shop Date host Amelia Dimoldenberg, and many more.

There will be several Palestinian artists in attendance, including singer Elyanna, musician Saint Levant, and artist El Far3i.

Also attending are Italian scholar and United Nations Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, journalist Mehdi Hasan, broadcaster Louis Theroux and Holocaust survivor Stephen Kapos.

"Together we can raise millions in urgently needed aid for families in Gaza," Eno posted on Instagram. "Every penny donated will go to Palestinian partners through Choose Love, a UK charity supporting local humanitarians in conflict zones. But this is about more than just money. It's about sending a message of love and solidarity to the people of Palestine, that they haven't been forgotten. We see them, we hear them, and though we may be far away, we're deeply connected - as we are to all humanity."

Tomorrow’s performances are set to be interwoven by interstitials directed and curated by Amir Nizar Zuabi, showcasing doctors, aid workers, teachers and journalists working in Gaza.

Comedian Guz Khan has been announced as host, and shared in a statement: “When you see kids in Gaza facing bombs instead of books, you realise this can’t be normalised. That silence isn’t an option. That’s why this concert matters. ‘Together For Palestine’ is about solidarity, love – and saying we see you, we stand with you. When I got the call asking me to host, it was a no-brainer. This is about using my platform to back justice, and reminding people that standing up for humanity is everyone’s job.”

Palestinian DJ Abdulhadi, who will be playing with Jamie xx for part of his set, said: “Everyone has a lever. Mine is a stage. I’ll use it at Wembley to amplify Palestinian voices and make space to grieve, unite, and recharge. For a free Palestine.”

Tickets are sold out, but the Wembley gig will be exclusively livestreamed on YouTube from 8pm CET tomorrow, with more details shared on social media on the day of the show.

Since Hamas’ attack on Israeli citizens on October 7, 2023, multiple UN human rights experts and UN bodies have stated that Israel’s military actions in Gaza may amount to genocide, with the International Court of Justice finding claims of genocide plausible. The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification announced that people in the Gaza Strip are officially facing “a man-made” famine in the territory – despite what the Israeli government has said.
