Niger puts Somair uranium up for international sale

In Niger, the military government announced Sunday that it will place uranium produced by Somair on the international market, escalating its standoff with French company Orano, which owned Somair until it was nationalised in June. The site holds an estimated 1,300 tons of uranium concentrate, worth around €250 million.
