Teen shooter of slain Colombian presidential hopeful sentenced to 7 years

A 15-year-old who shot Colombian presidential candidate Miguel Uribe during a June campaign event in Bogota, leading to Uribe’s death in August, was sentenced Wednesday to seven years in juvenile detention, prosecutors said. The teenager will remain in a specialised care centre, deprived of liberty, for the duration.
